Cutchi Dabeli Recipe

We all must have heard of Cutchi or kutchi dabeli
Cutchi dabeli is made of pav or loaf loaded with tangy potatoes and colorful pomegranate, sev, masala peanuts,and coriander
Cutchi dabeli is basically a Gujrati dish just like our vadapav pav is fill with delectable potato filling

As this recipe is from gujarat you will see a lot of colors and taste in it from tangy to spicy garlic chutney

If you are a mumbaikar you will see Cutchi dabeli or dabeli at Zaveri Bazar side or at masjid bunder area or any gujarati area
Potatoes are cooked with good spices like jeera, dhania, red chilli powder cloves and cinnamon powder

And we all love tangy imli gud chutney and we stock up in refrigerator so this chutney is also used as a spread on pav in addition garlic chutney is also used to make it tangy and spicy

This recipe is surely the one which is healthy plus easy to make

Dabeli is a combination of tangy potato filling loaded with pomegranate nylon sev masala peanuts wrapping up with pav or small loaf with tangy imli gud chutney and spicy garlic chutney

You can make dabeli masala powder at home or you can buy at the local shop
However I prefer homemade rather than store bought so here is the recipe

Dabeli /cutchi dabeli masala powder
Jeera 2 tsp
Dhania coriander 2 tsp
Cloves 4-5
Cinnamon stick 1
Red chillies 3-4
Dry roast all the ingredients and let is cool and grind it coarsely or fine powder
I prefer little coarsely as it gives a nice flavour
Masala peanuts
You can buy store bought peanuts or that 5 rs balaji peanuts pack

Cutchi Dabeli Recipe
Ingredients
Boiled potatoes 4-5 mashed
Kothmir chopped
Dabeli masala powder 2 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
Oil 2 tbsp
Onion 1 finely chopped
Pav 12 small
Pomegranate 1 full
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Butter 3-4 tbsp
Nylon sev
Masala peanuts

Method
In a heavy bottom pan add 2 tsp oil,Mashed potatoes and add kothmir or coriander followed by dabeli masala powder, ginger garlic paste, some finely chopped onions, red chilli powder, turmeric powder cook for about 5-10 minutes till all the spices are mixed with potatoes
Now cut the pav from middle and put butter in it roast it on a pan and add the potato filling inside
Spread tamarind chutney on one side and garlic chutney on the other
Coat the edges with pomegranate nylon sev and masala peanuts
