Coconut halwa Chop fresh coconut in to tiny cubes add to a pot with 3 cups young coconut water or a mixture of normal water and coconut water will work just fine (I always end up making it with plain water only) add in 1 + ½ tsp agar agar pwd and enough sugar to sweeten mix well and boil on medium to high heat stirring occasionally to avoid burning . Let it come to a boil reduce heat and simmer on low for another 2 minutes pour ½ of this mixture in to a large pyrex leave it to cool in open air (I prefer doing this under the fan to quicken the process) while you prepare the next layer. Take 1 + ½ cup coconut milk add in sugar and 1 tsp agar agar pwd mix boil and pour it over the 1st layer using a spoon to pour in slowly be very careful not to pour through the 1st later let this set as well then pour the last layer (½ of the 1st one that we had saved) let it chill in the refrigerator until firm for about 30 mins or an hour slice and serve cold.
